SOUTH QUAY CRUISES

m/s Marco Polo sails from London Tilbury
Cruise 22nd May - 30th May

Take advantage of the Spring Bank Holiday break to explore deep into Norway’s Fjordland with this comprehensive eight night itinerary. The sheer scale and magnificence of the scenery around you is literally breathtaking. Whether you are cruising gently along a fjord admiring the towering backdrop from the ship’s rail; taking an overland coach tour along a winding mountain road or admiring a cascading waterfall from the Flåm Railway, we think you will be bound to agree.

A day’s sailing brings you to the historic port of Bergen, famed for its restored medieval buildings and plentiful fresh salmon! Molde, the ‘City of Roses’, welcomes you next. Tour across the mountain plateau down into the Romsdalsfjord, where Marco Polo awaits at the village of Åndalsnes. Here is the famous Trollstigen Road with its eleven hairpin bends and Stigfossen waterfall cascading down over 500 feet. Bank Holiday Monday will be different this year as the only DIY you will undertake in Geiranger is deciding which stunning views of this most photographed fjord you will commit to the camera! Now explore the magnificent Sognefjord. A brief stop is made at Vik to disembark those taking the famous Norway in a Nutshell tour that rejoins the ship in Flåm. At the head of the Aurlandsfjord, Flåm is the terminus of the incredible Flåmsbana, the amazing railway line that climbs up a 1 in 18 gradient to Myrdal. Our Flåm Railway excursion could be the highlight of your cruise. Finally, head south to the beautiful Hardangerfjord to spend your last afternoon in Norway at Eidfjord, gateway to the wonderfully scenic Hardanger Plateau. A last day at sea, and it is back into Tilbury.
